Next year Netflix to Premiere Documentary About QuadrigaCX $250M Crypto Scandal

A Netflix documentary is set to explore what happened in 2018 when Gerard Cotten unexpectedly died, leaving hundreds of millions of dollars of the investor funds vanished into the crypto ether.
Netflix is prepping to premiere a new documentary on the QuadrigaCX scandal next year. Titles as "Trust No One: The Hunt For The Crypto King," it is based on the story of Gerard Cotten. He was the Canadian crypto exchange founder and died while on his honeymoon in India in 2018. He was also thought to have taken $250 million to the grave from the customer funds.
On
September 23rd, Netflix tweeted, "TRUST NO ONE: THE HUNT FOR THE CRYPTO
KING
Follow a group of investors turned sleuths as they try to unlock the suspicious death of cryptocurrency multimillionaire Gerry Cotten and the missing $250 million they believe he stole from them. Premieres in 2022."
Some people also believed that Cotten was faking his death to flee with customer funds. However, lawyers representing out-of-pocket customers had requested the Canadian police in December 2019 to dig up his grave and check if he had died.
The Canadian police denied this request. Since then, people have accepted that Cotten died of Crohn's disease. However, he hadn't carried the keys to customer funds to the grave with him.

According to a postmortem conducted by Ernst & Young, Cotten had been siphoning funds well before his death from QuadrigaCX and spent them on luxury items, such as planes, cars, and yachts.
He created a fake account on QuadrigaCX and bought his customer's crypto using fake Canadian dollars to carry out such fraud. Things came into light when the Ethereum market crashed in 2018, to which Cotten was heavily exposed and wiped out all his wealth.
The new documentary is directed by Luke Sewell, the BAFTA-nominated documentarian, and produced by UK-based Minnow Films, the producer of "When Harry Lost Hogwarts" "My Granny the Escort" and "Dogging Tales."
