Airbnb, the accommodation bookings giant has made an astonishing reference in a prospectus regarding its proposed initial public offering (IPO) of crypto and Blockchain.

On Monday, the firm has filed the prospectus with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). According to the document, the company’s success will rest on the ability of the company to adapt the emerging technologies, for instance, blockchain technology, tokenization, cryptocurrency, and other latest technologies.

The document further includes the lists of distributed ledger and blockchain technologies and also virtual and intensified reality, artificial intelligence, and cloud technologies.

As the information is given in the peril section of the prospectus, it also says that the company intends to continue to pay out on essential resources for maintenance, enhancement, and development of their technologies. It further says that the efforts might be more expensive than expected and even might not yield successful results.

Before the company attained the team at crypto – tipping service change tip in 2016, Airbnb had no plans of accepting bitcoin as a means of payment.

If the housing rentals giant makes an announcement regarding cryptocurrencies, it would bring every person in the industry in a new shock. It happened when last month PayPal declared a cryptocurrency buying service after so many years of speculation.

Considering IPO, Airbnb is designing trade on the Nasdaq Global Select Market with the stock symbol “ABNB". It is indicated that Airbnb is planning to raise around $ 3 billion in the initial offering, evaluating the company at more than 30 billion.

In the document, the firm revealed that despite the restrictions brought by the coronavirus pandemic, it managed to make profits in Q3 2020.

With the aim of challenging Airbnb, some decentralized projects have been set up that uses blockchain technology but none of them have seen a great success up to date.
