World Economic Forum Launches Metaverse Platform

World Economic Forum (WEF) launches its own Metaverse Platform, Global Collaboration Village, for this year. At the 2022 Annual Meeting 2022, the World Economic Forum, in partnership with Strategic public-private Partners Accenture and Microsoft, unveiled the general concept and architecture of the Global Collaboration Village, along with proof-of-concept of the experience and capabilities.
The digital environment, which is designed to resemble the actual town of Davos, where the organization meets once a year, is supposed to enable more efficient collaboration among world leaders.
It will bring together key global stakeholders international organizations, governments, partner companies, and civil society organizations to imagine alternative futures, explore ideas in an immersive setting, and envision what the world of the future could look like. It will provide immersive environments for stakeholders to gather, create, and act on the world's most important issues.
The Global Collaboration Village intends to be a pioneer in this new environment and to bring others together to co-create inside it.
Over the next months and years, the Forum will work with a founding partners group to further build the Global Collaboration Village, with the goal of transforming the metaverse into a location where international cooperation may be strengthened and re-energized.
Furthermore, the Forum is launching a new initiative on Defining and Building the Metaverse, which will bring together more than 60 leading companies from technology and other sectors, as well as experts from governments, academia, and civil society, to accelerate the development of metaverse governance and policy frameworks and strengthen economic and social value creation opportunities. This program, together with the Global Collaboration Village, will help form the metaverse's foundations in order to create a truly fair, interoperable, and safe digital environment from the start.
The chairman of the World Economic Forum intends to use this Davos representation to enable people and leaders to connect in virtual worlds and easily coordinate global collaborative activities.
