Twitter update stock and crypto Price Charts feature in the search bar. It’s using a plug-in from the charting platform TradingView.
Now Twitter is displaying price charts for popular equities exchange-traded funds (ETFs), and cryptocurrencies including bitcoin and ether alongside search results.
Robinhood, a U.S.-based trading platform for conventional assets and cryptocurrencies, is providing price charts on Twitter. There is a link to the trading platform app on each price chart.
Users can type crypto or stock tickers into the search bar for a price chart and current value. The official Twitter business account explained that people on Twitter will see a clickable link that takes them to search results when they tweet the symbol of a significant stock, ETF, or cryptocurrency with a dollar sign $ in front of it like $BTC. These search results will also include the pricing graphs for significant symbols. Twitter recently revealed this news through a series of tweets.
The social media leader added that without clicking on a link one can search for symbols in a tweet by doing so directly. Most symbols will function in searches, both with and without the dollar sign $. In the coming weeks, users will get a better user experience with broad symbol compatibility coverage.
The new function is well-received on Twitter. Although Robinhood is unavailable in some nations, Twitter uses different sources of price information. The social media company has not confirmed anything about collaborating in any way on a business level with TradingView or Robinhood. Which symbols are listed for direct stock price search results was not made clear by Twitter.
Dogecoin (DOGE) which is the owner’s preferred meme cryptocurrency, hasn't been added to the price chart yet. Although the Dogfather, also known as the CEO of Tesla and the leader of Twitter, has frequently declared his commitment to supporting and using Dogecoin.
According to Elon Musk, the owner of the social media network, this new function is "one of many product upgrades coming to financial Twitter. After many sponsors withdrew, Musk has been looking for new ways to monetize his social network company.
The billionaire has declared his intention to leave his position as CEO of the social networking site.
The corporation has implemented and swiftly reversed a regulation that forbade links and handles to other social networks like Facebook, Instagram, and Mastadon just in the previous week. The business also introduced the Blue for Business program, which enables businesses to display an additional badge on staff and related companies.
