Indian cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar invests in NFT platform Rario

The "God of Cricket" and one of India's most celebrated sportspersons, Sachin Tendulkar has made his first step into the world of non-fungible tokens (NFTs) partnering with the digital collectibles platform Rario.
Tendulkar will be an essential financial backer in Rario, an NFT stage zeroing in on cricket. Famous snapshots of Tendulkar's life and profession as true NFTs will presently be solely accessible just on Rario.com.
“It is exciting to see NFT technology bringing fans closer to sports, giving them an opportunity to treasure their favourite moments," said Tendulkar. "The team at Rario was committed to building a cricket community using technology in a responsible way. I am therefore happy to partner with the team, to launch my digital collectibles exclusively on the Rario platform,” he added.
Partnership with Tendulkar is Rario's biggest catch after securing exclusive partnerships with other famous cricketers including Virender Sehwag, Faf du Plessis, Aaron Finch, Rishabh Pant, and Zaheer Khan.
The captain of former the Indian national cricket team and all-time highest run-scorer in ODI and Test for an unprecedented 24 years is considered one of the greatest batsmen in the history of the game.
Rario has secured partnerships with quite a few cricket boards, and major tournaments, and has a list of over 900 international cricketers. Rario also partnered with Polygon Studios and Animoca. The platform has sold more than 150,000 NFT starting around 2021, the announcement said.
"Fans are an integral part of any sport," Tendulkar said. "While the on-field action happens for a few hours, fans carry the memories forward and immortalize those moments forever."
