Zilliqa Crypto Web 3 Gaming Console to Have Crypto Mining Capabilities

Zilliqa, a Layer 1 blockchain protocol plans to develop a console that allows miners to mine cryptocurrency while playing Web3 games, as part of its plan to provide miners with a seamless gaming experience. The goal is to bring millions of non-crypto natives into the blockchain gaming ecosystem.
This new Web3-centric video game console will compete against Nintendo, Microsoft, and Sony. However, the console has a distinctive feature that makes it stand out.
Considering the challenges associated with setting up Web3 wallets as a non-crypto native, Zilliqa explained that onboarding gamers into blockchain gaming has been difficult. As a result of this issue, the team believes that the gaming community is divided. The prototype will reduce friction for gamers new to Web3.
The Head of Gaming Technology at Zilliqa, Valentin Cobelea, said, “Upon announcing our first game at Gamescom, we had a great response from the gaming community, and we’re excited to say that it was just the beginning.”
As soon as they expand their catalog, Cobelea reveals that they will release their console and gaming hub, which he considers to be the Steam equivalent for Web3 games.
The prototype console has a sleek design with HDMI, Ethernet, USB-C, and USB 3.0 connections, among others. Although Zilliqa touts its user-friendliness, the full details remain under wraps.
Blockchain gaming activity grew by over 2000% during 2021, according to reports, and some games reached 300 thousand active users despite the bear market. The reality is that these types of games will take a long time to rival Web 2 games since, on Web 2, players seek fun, while on Web 3, players look for monetary gain.
