The HTC Metaverse Phone Supports Ethereum and Polygon

In recent weeks, HTC teased
a metaverse-focused smartphone, the company's last attempt at smartphones. The
formerly immensely successful smartphone manufacturer has spent the majority of
the last decade working at Google.
As part of the company's Web3 expansion, HTC announced a metaverse phone called Desire 22 Pro, which features a digital asset wallet and VR headset pairing feature.
A UK listing indicates that it is intended for, “Immersive experiences in a world where the physical, digital, and virtual interconnect — and with the capacity to run 2D and 3D content on extended reality (XR) devices.”
The phone's capabilities are not explained by this description, and it isn't different from any other smartphone today. This phone appears to be the same as any other.
The company's 6.6-inch phone has been preloaded with Viverse applications that allow users to interact with the metaverse without wearing a VR headset.
There will be 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage available for purchase in Taiwan, Japan, Europe, and for NT$11,990 (US$403) in Taiwan and £399 (US$487) in the U.K.
The phone can manage crypto assets, including a free NFT for starters, according to a report. However, this may only be available in certain regions.
The device runs Android 12, supports wireless and reverse-wireless charging, has an IP67 rating for water and dust resistance, and is available in black and gold.
After its last smartphone released in January 2021, HTC's focus has shifted to VR gear production. In 2017, Google bought a stake in HTC's smartphone hardware unit for US$1.1 billion.
