Snoop Dogg to open a dessert restaurant with an NFT theme
The first Bored Ape Yacht Club NFT restaurant,
Bored & Hungry, opened in Los Angeles this spring. Now the same team is
opening a second NFT restaurant with rapper and NFT enthusiast Snoop Dogg.
NFT art continues to thrive, collectors and traders flock to Bored & Hungry and other crypto cafes and NFT restaurants around the world despite a downturn in the floor price of Bored Ape NFTs since May 1st, which is now around 95 ETH on OpenSea.
A dessert restaurant name Dr. Bombay's Sweet Exploration will be a retail dessert experience created by Food Fighters Universe and Snoop Dogg.
Bored Ape Yacht Club, a collection of 10,000 unique avatars depicting disinterested cartoon apes, is one of the most popular Ethereum NFT collections. Snoop has given his avatar the name Dr. Bombay.
Over 2.1 billion dollars of secondary market transactions have taken place through NFT since their creation.
Food Fighters Universe announced this news on Twitter using the message: "Announcing the newest member on the Food Fighters Universe team @SnoopDogg AKA Dr. Bombay" On June 3rd, the startup announced that rapper Snoop Dogg would be joining the team.
Besides owning Bored Ape Yacht Club NFTs, Snoop Dogg also collaborates on Ethereum projects, such as The Sandbox, and Cardano projects, such as Clay Nation. He was also behind the Nyan Cat meme NFT.
This restaurant project is also closely associated with Snoop Dogg's son Cordell Broadus, whose Twitter handle is Champ Medici.
In a statement, Snoop's son Cordell said, "Food Fighters Universe is bridging food and Web3 and blazing a trail with real-life utility for NFTs.”
He adds, “It’s the future of the restaurant industry, and my dad and I are thrilled to join the team and utilize their expertise to bring Dr. Bombay to life."
Snoop Dogg is permitted to use his trademark NFT logo to promote and decorate his restaurant. However, this is not an official Bored Ape Yacht Club eatery.
