Mythical blockchain Game maker and the NFL will a launch a Play and Own NFT game

Mythical Games, the blockchain game maker, and the National Football League (NFL) announced their partnership to launch 'NFL Rivals' on the Mythical Platform in early 2023, a new video game leveraging blockchain technology for the NFL.
The game will launch officially in 2023, but fans will be able to purchase 32 limited-quantity collections of 3D NFTs in a series of drops.
NFL senior vice president of consumer products Joe Ruggiero said, "With the rise of blockchain technology, we are thrilled to partner with Mythical Games on a blockchain-enabled game that delivers new play-to-own NFT capabilities, creating a new adventure for fans who love to play football games."
He added, "The interest in NFTs and video gaming amongst current and prospective fans continues to grow and combined have accelerated the NFL's exploration of new gaming models that can deliver an unmatched experience to fans."
In the current market, blockchain games are still trying to reach mainstream gamers, and a partner like the NFL could make it easier for them. With backing from Andreessen Horowitz, Mythical has raised $150 million at a valuation of $1.25 billion so far.
There will be two gameplay modes in NFL Rivals, in which players can play by themselves and in which they can play against other players. In solo, the player can match their team with an actual NFL lineup. Non-live PVP mode lets gamers participate in a game against teams formed by other players, with each player selecting football plays for their team.
As part of the promotion, fans will also be able to take part in special events, earn in-game rewards, and access other features aimed at enhancing engagement and participation.
