Mining devices manufacturer MicroBT announced about launch of Whatsminer M50 series

During Bitcoin
22 conference which was held in Miami, the mining devices manufacturer Microbt announced the launch of their Whatsminer M50 series which are two new powerful bitcoin
BTC mining rigs. It can produce hashrate speeds of up to 126 terahash per
second (TH/s).
On the mining
stage at Bitcoin 2022, a recorded video was played where the COO of MicroBT, and producer
of the Whatsminer series of bitcoin mining rigs, Jordan Chen, discussed in detail the company’s new M50 series of miners which are M50s, M50 and M53.
As per the press
release made by MicroBT, it has a custom chip design. The company's latest
offering has a capacity to deliver 126 terahashes per second (TH/s) of mining
power at an efficiency rating of 26 joules per terahash (J/T) running at 3,276
watts of power. It is based on a 5nm Samsung processor, making it highly
efficient and capable. It can deliver up to 15% higher efficiency than existing
series models due to its air-cooling. According to the manufacturer, the
air-cooled M50 is able to achieve 114 TH/s with 29 J/T efficiencies. And the
hydro cooled M53 series hosts 226 TH/s of computing power at 29 J/T. It is expected that the M50 series can run at
a higher power for a much longer period of time compared to previous rigs in
the Whatsminer series.
The latest
Whatsminer M50 series model that has up to 126 TH/s hash rate is available for
$10,924.20 per unit. The older model that has 114 TH/s is a little cheaper at
$8857.80. With Bitcoin's current price and $0.10 KW/hr electricity rates, the
Whatsminer M50 series is profitable and can easily push upwards of $11 per day
in profits.
Furthermore, since
Chinese regulators began cracking down on Bitcoin miners in China last year,
MicroBT framed the M50 as a more effective way to expand into new mining hubs
like North America, where mining hash rates have increased significantly.
According to the release, this year MicroBT is capable of producing and
shipping more than 30,000 pieces per month from its production site which is located
in Southeast Asia. It can support more customers from North America and
newly-emerging areas. As per MicroBT each model in the series will be available
for shipping from the Beginning in the third quarter of this year. The parent
company of Bitcoin Magazine BTC Inc has hosted the Bitcoin Event Series where Bitcoin
2022 is part of it. Compared to Microbt’s new Bitcoin miners, Bitmain’s new
miners can offer up to 255 TH/s.
In November
2021, the Antminer S19 XP, with a hash rate of 140 TH/s, and the Antminer S19
Pro+ Hyd, with the computational power of 198 TH/s, were unveiled. Bitmain also
announced a new hydro ASIC unit called the Antminer S19 XP Hyd., which, according
to the company, produces 255 TH/s. As per reported on Bitmain’s upcoming mining
machines that offer hashrate speeds up to 255 TH/s. the latest machines
revealed by Bitmain and Microbt indicate that next-generation mining rigs pack
a whole lot of hash power.
