AMC Entertainment's CEO announced that AMC Theatres will soon accept two meme cryptocurrencies, DOGE and SHIB, as payment for tickets.

With 950 theaters and 10,500 screens in the U.S., Europe, and around the world, AMC Entertainment is the biggest movie exhibitor in the world.

On Monday, AMC CEO Adam Aron tweeted, “BitPay will be live for AMC online payments on our website by March 19, and live on our mobile apps by April 16, possibly a few days earlier.”

Adam Aron explained that the IT department will make sure Bitpay will be available for online payments by March 19 and mobile apps by April 16.

In November last year, Aaron claimed that he convinced Bitpay to support Shiba Inu, saying he would be the 1st client of Bitpay to do so.

Aron also announced last year that AMC Theatres would start accepting four cryptocurrencies: bitcoin (BTC), ether (ETH), Litecoin (LTC), and bitcoin cash (BCH). Customers, on the other hand, can only make payments with these cryptocurrencies through their PayPal accounts.

As part of the Dogecoin community's marketing efforts, #AcceptDoge has been trending on Twitter for the past few months.

Dogecoins are now accepted on the Tesla Inc website. Tesla CEO Elon Musk promised a restaurant and theater at the Supercharger location would accept Dogecoins.

According to analysts, AMC will report fourth-quarter financial results after the close of the market on Tuesday. It is forecast to post revenue of $1.09 billion and a loss of 26 cents per share, up from $763.2 million and a loss of 44 cents per share in the third quarter.
