All Seeing Seneca artist behind Bored Ape Yacht Club collection launched a new set of NFTs

All Seeing Seneca artist behind Bored Ape Yacht Club collection launched a new set of NFTs. At Dfinity's Iconoclast gallery event at Art Basel Miami, All Seeing Seneca, the artist who created the legendary Bored Ape Yacht Club collection, released a new set of 5 NFTs.
Among the five artworks on
the Ethereum blockchain, two are animated and three are static.
The Yuga Labs collection,
including Mutant Apes and Bored Ape Kennel Club, became a pop culture
phenomenon thanks to the success of BAYC in recent months, generating over 1
billion dollars in total sales.
Seneca is a visual artist,
known for bright, cartoonish designs that combine surreal elements with bright
colors. Celebrities like Jimmy Fallon and Post Malone have purchased apes on
the Ethereum blockchain and used them as their Twitter profile image.
The artist told The Defiant
that of the five pieces, four will be auctioned at the ICONOCLAST art exhibit,
and the fifth one will be auctioned next year. NFTs will be minted on Ethereum
and hosted on the DFINITY Foundation's Internet Computer, a blockchain that was
built by the foundation.
Seneca has long been
frustrated with the traditional art market: a market that has so far treated
digital art as second class and inferior to its physical counterpart. According
to the artist, digital art will be able to participate in traditional art
markets through NFTs.
“The fact that you can
authenticate a digital asset, that’s revolutionary. That changes the game
entirely,” she said.
Seneca's first venture into
NFT's was "Bored Ape Yacht Club", and the artist is enthusiastic
regarding the potential of this new art form.
The artist teased that she
may drop a new NFT in 2022 in one of the five artworks on Ethereum, but she
couldn't offer any more information. "What I made for Art Basel is just
the beginning for me," she said.
