Music producer Timbaland launched Artist-Owned Ape-In Productions

Ape-In Productions (AIP), a new metaverse-based entertainment company, has been launched by music producer Timbaland,
that will sell merchandise
based on characters from the Bored Ape Yacht Club.
This new venture-backed by
Grammy-winning producer and songwriter Timbaland, who acquired a Bored Ape NFT,
has plans to disrupt the music industry similar to what Verzuz and Beatclub
have done.
In a statement, the
American musician said, “We’ve built a new entertainment platform in the
metaverse that puts creative control and long-term ownership back in the hands
of artists, a concept that is incredibly important to us.”
The Bored Ape Yacht Club is
one of the most successful NFT initiatives to date, having amassed over $1
billion in trading since its start just seven months ago. These unique cartoons
are issued on the blockchain by Yuga Labs and serve as an investment and a
prestige symbol for consumers. Ape owners can profit from the NFTs' and can
also "flip" the Apes to make even more money when they're ready to
sell.
Timbaland and many members
of the Bored Ape Yacht Club community co-founded AIP. AIP is a new
entertainment platform for the metaverse era, with the purpose of discovering
and amplifying music artists while unlocking creative material. Timbaland, his
firm Beatclub, and other artists will create music for the AIP's initial round
of releases.
In addition to gaining
access to these NFTs, collectors will also be able to access exclusive items,
such as merchandise, virtual studio sessions, community-building events, and
animated concerts.
the zoo, a hip-hop group from the Bored Ape Yacht Club universe, is AIP's first artist signing. the zoo will release their debut single "ApeSh!t," produced by Timbaland, on November 17th.
